USA – “pretty good job we’ve done.”

CDC officials said that a California patient being treated for novel coronavirus was the first US case of unknown origin. The patient did not have any travel history to infected areas nor exposure to another known patient, and was the first possible US case of “community spread.” Trump placed Vice President Mike Pence in charge of the US Government response to the outbreak. In a news conference he said:

“When you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done.”

60 people in the United States were infected.
