I’m a popular American travel vlogger who has been traveling around the world from Shanghai to Alaska for the last 7 years. It was originally designed to be a recumbent trike cycling journey, meandering across 100 countries, and accomplishing exciting bucket list items. But the COVID pandemic challenged me to rethink and retool.
I am back in America, building a fully equipped off-grid vanlife van to complete my journey. I will reverse my original planned route, journeying from the top of Alaska down towards the tip of South America, before working my way up thru Africa, Europe, and Asia. Along the way, I will make videos, podcasts, and vlog content about the people, places and events I encounter.

In 2015, before I started my cycle tour, I flew to Germany to ask the premiere recumbent trike manufacturer, HP Velotechink, to help me get fitted with one of their Scorpion 20fs recumbent trikes. I told them my dream and intentions and they helped me get fitted with one of their high end consumer trikes.
I wanted to understand the ins and outs of my trike, so I helped build it at the factory in Kriftel, Germany. I recorded the build with their experienced team.
Then I returned to China, where I started my tour with my new HP Velotechinik 20fs.
This video has 466,000 views and is used as a tool for people looking to purchase recumbent gear and trikes. It is one of many 100K+ viewed product specific videos on my channel.
I started my journey from Ningbo, China. Along the way I became the preeminent recumbent trike cyclist in the world, meeting people in the countries I traveled that knew my trike from watching my youtube channel and social media postings. I have over 600 videos featuring the trike, with millions upon millions of accrued views and watch minutes. I have helped to sell hundreds of thousands of dollars of HP Velotechink trikes and helped to mainstream the idea of recumbent trike ownership, enhancing a niche and often misunderstood industry. People around the world to this day contact me for advice and tips regarding recumbent cycle touring and associated topics.
I don't quit. In 2016, I was in an accident with a box truck on a lonely road near Guilin, China. Bones shattered, lying next to my totaled trike, all my gear splayed out on the road, I vowed to return to the road eventually (I literally made a video lying on the street saying as much). It took a year, but eventually I did. I got a new trike from Germany, I learned a lot of lessons, I adjusted the path and continued.
